Product Details

Work Principle:

The fruit receiving hopper is the initial collection and buffer point for fresh tomatoes before extraction and refining. It is strategically positioned to receive bulk tomatoes delivered by conveyor or flume systems and continuously feed them to the next process.

Key Function:

Buffering and feed conditioning

Serves as temporary storage to regulate the flow of tomatoes into the washing and sorting system, ensuring a steady throughput.

Debris separation (optional)

Some hoppers include screens or water flow systems to separate dirt, leaves, or stones before further processing.

Integration with conveyors or pumps

Usually connected to a screw conveyor or pump system to convey the tomatoes to the coring and pulping unit.

Material

Usually made of 304 stainless steel, which meets food grade standards and resists corrosion from tomato acids.

Role in the Extraction and Refining Workflow:

  • After tomatoes are received in the hopper, they are transported to the crushing & transferring pump with a thruster, where the tomato as well as transferred into the tubular preheater.
  • From there, the refined pulp moves on to evaporation and concentration stages to form the final tomato paste.
